The production and conservation of medicinal and aromatic plant genetic resources depend on high-quality seeds. This new volume, Seed Technology for Medicinal and Aromatic Plants: Production, Testing, Storage, and Marketing, addresses this by presenting information on seed production, processing, storage, and seed quality testing techniques.

The volume offers a plethora of research and information seed production and storage. Beginning with an overview of the principles and practices of seed storage for maintaining seed quality of medicinal and aromatic plants, the volume goes on to address high-quality seed production through organic farming, the detection of volatile organic compounds emitted by seeds, metabolic changes during seed germination, enhanced seed germination techniques, safe seed storage, design of synthetic seeds, seed packaging practices, detection and identification of seed storage fungi, bacteria, and viruses. The book also focuses on seed conservation of endangered ethnomedicinal plant species, biotechnological interventions for sustainable seed production, and more.

This volume offers important and valuable information for faculty and students in the fields of agriculture, horticulture and forestry as well as for seed industry researchers and scientists, quality control officials, and agricultural policymakers.
