While nutritional supplements have enormous advantages, usual food ingredients like fruits and vegetables can play a significant preventative and therapeutic role in our daily lives. Fruits are found to have anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antifungal, and chemopreventive properties that can boost health as well as prevent diseases. This new book, Nutraceutical Fruits: Overview and Disease Prevention, details the use of fruits as nutraceuticals for alternative treatment as well as for disease prevention.

The book is divided into two parts. The first part provides an overview of nutraceutical fruits and their use as alternative treatment for various diseases. The second part details how nutraceutical fruits can be used to prevent and manage a range of diseases that include mental illness, cancer, respiratory and lung diseases, cardiovascular diseases, liver diseases, inflammatory bowel diseases, sleep disorders, etc. The book also looks at the roles of nutraceutical fruits in the metabolic syndrome and provides information regarding the safety and toxicity of nutraceutical fruits. A futuristic approach to research and promote the utilization of wild fruits is shared as well.

This book, Nutraceutical Fruits: Overview and Disease Prevention, compiles comprehensive data on the nutritional content of various fruits in response to the management and prevention of several diseases. It will be useful for scientists, clinicians, and researchers working in nutraceutical applications in health care. In addition, graduate students in nutrition, microbiology, pharmacy, plant science, and food science will find the book extremely informative.
