Akash, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Botany at the Dhanauri P.G. College, Haridwar (affiliated to Sridev Suman Uttarakhand University), India. He earned his bachelor’s degree in science and master’sdegree (in Botany) from HNB Garhwal University (a central university), Uttarakhand, India, and PhD (Botany) from Gurukul Kangri University, India. Dr. Akash has wide experience in the field of teaching and research. His research was on forest ecology, soil nutrients dynamics, soil microbiological analysis, and plant-based natural products as well as herbal drugs. He has published more than three dozen research papers and two dozen book chapters in various national and international journals. Dr. Akash also has published one book with IGI Global, USA, on ethnomedicinal plants used in the practice of traditional medicine. Currently the author is serving as an active reviewer for several international journals.

B. S. Bhandari, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Botany and Microbiology at HNB Garhwal University (a central university), Uttarakhand, India. He has wide experience in teaching and research in the field of Himalayan ecology, environmental issues, and conservation biology. He has published more than five dozen research papers and articles in the journals of national and international repute. He has supervised seven PhD scholars leading to doctoral degrees. He is an ardent trekker and photographer devoted to documenting floral and faunal diversity. For the last one and half decades, he has been working on the floral and avifaunal relationships of ecosystems. Dr. Bhandari started his academic career with receiving a gold medal for his master’s degree. He joined a PhD program on the global burning issue of fire ecology. He has received a Council of Scientific and Industrial Research Pool Officership and a DST Young Scientist Award from the Government of India.

J. P. Mehta, PhD, is working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Botany and Microbiology, HNB Garhwal University (a central university), Uttarakhand, India. He has more than 20 years of teaching and 25 years of research experience in the field of forest fire ecology, biodiversity conservation, forest management, soil microbiology, and habitat study of ethnomedicinal plants. He has supervised 10 PhD students and has authored 80 research articles, two books, and eight chapters. In addition, Dr. Mehta is serving as an active reviewer for different national and international journals.
