This new volume, Gut Microbiota in Type 2 Diabetes: Pathogenesis and Complications, sheds light on a crucial and emerging aspect of diabetes research: the intricate relationship between gut microbiota dysbiosis and the development of type 2 diabetes.

The book discusses the potential complications arising from gut microbiota imbalances, expanding our understanding of diabetes-related health issues, and also suggests the potential of new therapeutic approaches that target the gut microbiota to manage and prevent type 2 diabetes. It looks at how gut microbiota is intimately connected to obesity and type 2 diabetes; considers the impact of health, nutrition, and hygiene on gut microbiota; and studies the molecular interplay between gut microbiota and diabetes. It addresses the impact of gut microbiota on diabetic neuropathy, diabetic retinopathy, and other diabetic complications. The chapters also present potential strategies for the treatment by targeting gut microbiota imbalances with nutraceuticals and more.

With chapters from researchers of across the globe from Europe to Asia, this volume highlights the importance of gut microbiota in the cause and treatment of type 2 diabetes and its associated complications. By providing informative research into the mechanisms through which gut microbiota influences glucose metabolism, insulin sensitivity, and inflammation, the book is a valuable resource for researchers, clinicians, and healthcare professionals working toward better diabetes management strategies.
