About the book:

This forthcoming book, Geological Hazards and Civil Engineering, plans to offer a comprehensive exploration of the intersection between geological hazards and civil engineering, making it an indispensable resource for researchers, educators, professionals, and policymakers engaged in the fields of geology, civil engineering, and urban planning. The book will be designed to help civil engineers understand the risks associated with geological hazards and offers strategies for designing and constructing resilient infrastructure that can withstand these threats. Key topics will include foundations of geological hazards, earthquake resilience, landslide mitigation, slope stability in mining, flood risk management, climate change and geological hazards, risk assessment and hazard zoning. With a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration, this volume will underscore the importance of integrating geological insights into civil engineering practices to enhance the sustainability and safety of projects, particularly in hazard-prone regions. Its detailed case studies, analytical frameworks, and methodologies will make it a vital reference for academic research, curriculum development, and the advancement of knowledge in the field.

Coverage:
We request potential authors to consider submitting their scholarly findings to enrich the content of this intended volume. The book will cover the following topics:

• Geology and Seismic Hazard Assessment
• Earthquake Engineering and Seismic Design
• Building Materials for Geologically Hazardous Environments
• Soil Liquefaction and Ground Improvement Techniques
• Landslide Risk Assessment and Mitigation
• Case Studies of Ground Improvement in Liquefaction Areas
