Reviews
“A wealth of valuable information and insightful perspectives on how sensor technology can be leveraged to tackle environmental issues, climate change, and its impacts . . . Comprehensively addresses both technical and nontechnical aspects that are crucial for the development of successful end-to-end sensor applications, enabling readers to gain a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of the subject matter.”
—From the Foreword by Prof. Haroon Rashid Naik, Director Research/Planning & Monitoring, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Kashmir, Shalimar, India

Cutting-edge sensor technologies used for environmental monitoring provide precise, timely, reliable, and current information about a process or event, capturing signals in response to changes in the source or in the environment, and generating appropriate responses based on those signals. This new two-volume book set delves into the world of innovative environmental sensor technologies and their uses in detection, measurement, and remediation of environmental pollutants

The books provide application-based approaches that use real-world examples, current research, and practical experiments to explain how environmental sensor technology can be used to battle climate change, monitor pollution, and remediate it in a practical, efficient, and advanced manner. This volumes provide a thorough understanding of sensing technology for climate change produced by manmade activities that were not previously monitored and measured by climate change drivers.

Volume 1: Climate Change Impact and Environmental Implications focuses on the structure, design, and operation of environmental sensor technologies and then explores the specific applications, such as for measuring climate change and for environmental monitoring, for monitoring landslides, for soil pollution detection, for carbon biomass estimation, and for smart agriculture farming practices.

Volume 2: Environmental Pollution and Remediation Technologies focuses on sensor-based air quality monitoring, monitoring water and waste water pollution, detection and control of wildfires and deforestation, environmental contamination detection, removal and remediation of contaminated soils, and more.

Intended for environmental scientists, chemical engineers, conservationists, biologists, medical experts, students interested in sensor-based research and careers, as well as junior researchers and professors teaching different courses on research methods, climate change, pollution control, natural resource conservation, and health impact, these volumes will be convenient and concise references as well as an inspiration for future research.
