In a world where environmental degradation and the pursuit of natural health solutions are both gaining unprecedented attention, the intersection of ecotoxicity and herbal health emerges as a critical field of study. This new book, Ecotoxicity and Herbal Health, explores this intersection, providing a comprehensive overview of how environmental contaminants affect plant-based remedies and, consequently, human health.

Looking at the dual dynamics of environmental pollution and the growing reliance on herbal medicine, this book addresses several key areas of concern:

• Ecotoxicological Impact on Medicinal Plants, looking into the mechanisms through which pollutants affect plant physiology, growth, and their intrinsic medicinal properties in order to better assess the risks posed by contaminated herbal resources.

• Human Health Implications, evaluating the toxicological consequences on human health and emphasizing the need for stringent quality control and safety assessments in the herbal medicine industry.

• Sustainable Practices and Remediation, exploring sustainable agricultural practices and remediation strategies that can mitigate the impact of environmental pollutants. Organic farming, phytoremediation, and the development of pollution-resistant plant varieties are among the solutions discussed.

• Regulatory Framework and Policy, considering the role of regulatory bodies in ensuring the safety of herbal products, reviewing existing regulations, identifying gaps, and proposing policy recommendations to safeguard both environmental and public health.

Intended for a diverse audience, including researchers, healthcare professionals, environmental scientists, policymakers, and anyone with an interest in the sustainability of herbal medicine, this volume helps to foster a deeper understanding of the intricate relationship between environmental health and herbal medicine, encouraging a more informed and proactive approach to addressing the challenges at this intersection.
