In an era where global challenges like climate change, resource scarcity, and population growth are shaping the future of food production, the concept of sustainable agriculture has emerged as a powerful solution. Sustainable agriculture is not only about growing food but also about cultivating systems that respect ecological balance, preserve resources, and ensure social and economic well-being for future generations.

This new book is an exploration of the principles, practices, and the transformative role of sustainable agriculture and the roles it plays in addressing critical issues facing our world today. It discusses diverse approaches to farming that emphasize soil health, biodiversity, water conservation, and resilience to climate variability, focusing on the role of microbial resources. It encompasses a range of practices, with chapters delving into microbial solutions and applications in sustainable agriculture, such as bioprospective fungi, plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria, phosphate solubilizing bacteria, liquid biofertilizers, agri-food waste processing, beneficial microbes for management of insects, harnessing soil microorganisms, and much more.

Emphasizing the role of microbiotechnology in sustainable agriculture, this volume will be valuable to researchers, scientists, faculty and students, and environmental policymakers.
