Global climate changes and environmental challenges have led to extensive research on major signaling pathways of plant growth regulators like jasmonates, salicylates and ethylene, strigolactones, etc., in the last two decades. With their potential to enhance the adaptability of plants to biotic as well as abiotic stresses while regulating key growth and developmental phenomena, jasmonates are a promising solution to a growing global food shortage problem. This new book, Biotechnological Applications of Jasmonates: A Group of Less Well-Known Plant Growth Regulators, details the practical applications of jasmonates in agriculture: their multifunctional role in stress tolerance, their role in growth and development, as well as their protective role during heavy metal stress

The book provides extensive information on jasmonate structure, biosynthesis, signaling, and practical applications of jasmonates in horticulture. It also discusses their role in plant growth and development, detailing on the cross-talk of jasmonates with secondary metabolites, antioxidants, and secondary messengers and their role in mediating the stress responses. It further delves into the cross talk of jasmonates with other phytohormones during abiotic stress tolerance. The protective role of jasmonates during heavy metal stress is explored, and other topics covered include the role of jasmonates in regulation of growth and development, biosynthetic pathways, role of jasmonates during stressful conditions, and the signal transduction cascades involved during the jasmonate-induced regulation of growth and development.

Highlighting the key advancements in jasmonate research in the past two decades, this book will prove an ideal source of information for a wide scientific audience, including students and research scholars.
